AB System Introduction
• ControlLogix System
A simple ControlLogix system consists of a single controller and I/O modules in a single chassis. For more complex systems, use:
Multiple controllers in a single chassis.
Multiple controllers connected on a network. 1756-M13 1756-M13
Multiple I/Os distributed across multiple platforms and locations.

The ControlLogix-XT controller functions in the same way as conventional controllers. ControlLogix-XT products include control and communication system components, and when used with FLEX I/O-XT products, provide a complete control system solution usable in environments with temperatures ranging from -20...70°C (-4...158°F). When used alone, the ControlLogix-XT system can withstand ambient temperatures ranging from -25...70°C (-13 to 158°F).
ControlLogix Enhanced Redundancy System
ControlLogix controllers support redundancy. Redundant switching controls the auxiliary controller chassis to provide higher system availability and increased productivity if any module in the main chassis detects an event in the primary redundant module.
Enhanced redundancy and high availability applications are available in ControlLogix firmware version 19.50. Details of the firmware package (V19.52Enh”) can be downloaded from Rockwell Automation's technical support website. ControlLogix redundancy v19.50 adds support.
GuardLogix System 1756-M13
GuardLogix controllers are ControlLogix controllers that also provide control. The GuardLogix system is a dual-controller solution – you use a 1756-L6xS or L7xS primary controller and a 1756-LSP or L7SP partner to achieve SIL 3 and Cat.4/PLe. A major advantage of this system is that it remains a single project and standard. The controller is part of the system, automatically configured, and requires no user setup.
